This Panel aims to bring together interdisciplinary perspectives to broaden our understanding of poverty. We invite authors to submit both empirical and conceptual papers on a range of topics related to the impact of poverty on sustainable development, including, but not limited to:
- natural or social changes in the environment caused directly or indirectly by people, which pose an existential risk to humans, especially to those living in countries of the Global South;
- the natural, social and economic aspects of human behavior and environmental sustainability;
- new concepts in tourism development that consider it as one of the key contributors in the prosperity and well-being of all stakeholders, especially in the countries of the Global South;
- impact assessments of the environmental consequences (both positive and negative) of industry, agriculture and services (e.g. tourism) in terms of natural, social or economic aspects;
- morality and ethics in the context of human behavior and their impact on sustainable development;
- the impact of global warming on various aspects of human well-being;
- immigration and integration policies, especially as seen through local and regional lenses;
- analysis of public discourse and public attitudes towards migrants.
